Troy University will soon be offering new doctoral programs! This is a big step towards establishing TROY as a research institution, as Producer PJ Heath reports.And, TROY's Music Industry Program Coordinator Robert Smith died last week due to complications from heart surgery. He was 64. Smith was known internationally for his talents as a composer, conductor, music publisher, and educator. Host Emily Lewis reports.

The Talk of TROY - ”The Tuskegee Airmen Hangar & The Heroism of Bennie Adkins” - June 30th, 2023

It’s been over five years since a historical marker at the Troy Municipal Airport was dedicated for a hangar used by the Tuskegee Airmen. We recently spoke with Historian Daniel Hollman about the importance of having this monument in TROY. Producer Justin Blowers reports.And in 2018, a Vietnam veteran and TROY graduate spoke with us about his autobiography, A Tiger Among Us. Command Sergent Major Bennie G. Adkins died in 2020, but his legacy lives on. Producer Xavier Kennedy reports on Adkins’ heroic actions, which were recognized in 2014 with the medal of honor.

Troy University’s campus has won awards for its natural beauty, and its arboretum is a particular standout. It’s home to rare trees and a certain plant with local renown, as Producer Joey Hudson reports.And, teachers love to give out "A" grades to students, and recently Troy University’s undergraduate program in Elementary Education got an "A" they can stick on the refrigerator!
