Troy University has opened an IDEA bank in downtown Troy to provide resources for students and small businesses.And, TROY recently awarded a degree to an 87-year-old army veteran two days before he passed away.

Troy University’s Student Government Association will soon have its first all-black cabinet and president.And a new exhibit in TROY's International Arts Center is bringing work from area artists together in one place.

"Student Journalism Awards & Eliminating Racial Discrimination" - April 2nd, 2021

Troy University's Hall School of Journalism has won 12 awards from the SEJC's Best of the South Competition. The winners include two production interns with TROY Public Radio, and The Talk of TROY itself.And Troy University's Rosa Parks Museum in Montgomery is co-sponsoring a virtual event to recognize the UN’s International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

"The First Graduate Weather Officer & Reopening the Economy" - March 19th, 2021

A Troy University Air Force ROTC student will soon be TROY's first graduate to become an Air Force weather officer.And, TROY's Johnson Center for Political Economy recently hosted a conference of economy experts around the country to discuss "Reopening the Economy in the Age of COVID."

"COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution & Terracotta Warriors on Chinese TV" - March 5th, 2021

Troy University's health center has become a distribution site for COVID-19 vaccines.And, Troy University's Terracotta Warriors collection is featured on a Chinese television show with an audience of around 280 million.

"African American Literature Read-in & A Graduate-Owned Business" - February 26th, 2021

Troy University's English department is co-sponsoring an African American literature read-in in front of John Robert Lewis Hall.And, last year, we talked with a Troy University student about how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected her local business. Now, she's a graduate, and we check back in to see how her café is performing.
